Advantages of saliva testing

Saliva testing offers several unique advantages compared to other sample types

Quick and easy sampling

The sample is taken by placing a collection swab in the mouth for a few minutes. No invasive procedure required.

Minimal manipulation risk

Unlike urine tests, saliva tests are very difficult to manipulate as sampling occurs under supervision.

Longest detection time for amphetamine

Saliva tests have longer detection time for amphetamine compared to other sample types, up to 72 hours.

Temperature stable

Saliva samples tolerate extreme temperatures better than urine samples, making them ideal for transport.

Discreet and respectful

Often perceived as less privacy-invasive than urine tests, increasing acceptance among employees.

How the sampling works

A simple and smooth process from sampling to results when the sample is sent to the laboratory.

1

Preparation

The person being tested should not have eaten, drunk or smoked 10 minutes before sampling for best results.

2

Sampling

A collection swab is placed in the mouth and held there for 2-5 minutes until sufficient saliva is absorbed.

3

Sealing

The sample is sealed in a secure container and labeled with unique identification for traceability.

4

Transport

The sample is sent to our accredited laboratory Synlab in Germany for analysis.

5

Analysis

The sample is analyzed with advanced LC-MS/MS technology that detects even very low concentrations.

6

Results

Analysis results are delivered within 5 business days directly in your customer portal or via email.

When is saliva testing best suited?
